Hallo Didier,

The 6530 was a custom chip and was mask programmable. Including the meaning of some of the pins. Even if you can alter the contents of the ROM part of a 6530 in a magically way, you cannot exchange the 6530 of a a CBM drive with the one of a KIM for example.

Have a look at this page: http://baltissen.org/newhtm/6530.htm

If you don't know exactly what the pin-out of a 6530 is, there is a good chance you won't be able to read and you run even a small chance to blow up things.

Hi Ruud :)

my goal is to check if they are working:

- download the content of the rom and check the content

- check if the ram is working

- check if the ports are ok

I've got 5, I just would like to determine if they have a chance to work
or if it's just junk

Hallo Didier,

Where do they come from? If you don't know, is there a Commodore code on top of the IC? If so, you can track the number using Google.
